Rustic Biscuits & Sausage Gravy

 
 

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg Grands Biscuits (8 count)
  • 1 - 12oz pkg Klement's Original Breakfast Sausage links
  • 1/4 cup flour (approx)
  • 1 cup milk (approx)
  • 1 pkg fresh baby bella mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 small red onion (diced)
  • 1 tsp granulated roasted garlic
  • 1/2 tsp ground sage
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried dill
  • sliced green onion or chopped fresh chives for garnish

Steps

  1. preheat oven to 350
  2. separate biscuits and place on parchment paper-lined baking sheet
  3. cook sausage links over medium heat until browned and cooked through - add a little water to keep from sticking
  4. slices sausage links into small coins and place back into pan
  5. coat sausage pieces with flour and add milk - stir well until flour is all mixed in - consistency should be on the thicker side
  6. keep heat at medium-low and add onions, mushrooms & spices. Add more milk until desired consistency is reached.
  7. keep stirring until onions and mushrooms are cooked and gravy is hot.
  8. remove biscuits from oven and slice in half. Top with desired amount of gravy and garnish with chopped green onion or fresh chives - ENJOY!

For extra heartiness

  1. fry an egg (keep yolk runny) and place on top of biscuits & gravy
