Bratwurst & Cajun Butter Shrimp Skewers

 
 

Ingredients

  • 1 (14oz) Package of Klement's Traditional Bratwurst - sliced into 1/2 inch rounds
  • 1lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4oz butter, melted
  • 1 Tbsp lemon zest
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh thyme
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp creole seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • Kosher Salt (as needed)
  • Cracked Black Pepper (as needed)

Steps

  1. Soak ten 12-inch wooden skewers in water for 15 minutes. When ready to cook, drain and dry skewers.
  2. Thread top of shrimp, then sausage, then the tail of shrimp onto skewers. Repeat until all shrimp and sausage are used.
  3. Whisk to combine melted butter, lemon zest, lemon juice, thyme, garlic powder and creole seasoning in a medium bowl. Divide mixture in half and set aside.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, then brush half of the butter mixture onto shrimp and sausage skewers until evenly coated.
  5. Heat grill or cast-iron skillet pan to medium. Add skewers and cook until shrimp is opaque, and sausage is warmed through, about 3 minutes per side.
  6. Take the reserve butter mixture and baste the skewers once wholly cooked. Serve hot and enjoy!
